Time for another spooky brew from my stash!  Bone Up Brewing emerged as one of our favorite local spots this summer so I always feel like I should give them some more love here.  Fortunately, this release (from a couple of months ago) was a shoo-in for my Halloween festivities!

Beer Name: Blood Built Stout

Brewery: Bone Up Brewing Company (Everett, MA)

Style: Dry Stout

ABV: 4.8%

Description: A birthday brew created by the Bone Up team, this beer was inspired by their love of the band Blood Built Empire (I’ll admit I’m not familiar with them).  You can more of the story here.

Appearance: Poured to a black body with a thin line of off-white foam.

Smell: Subtle mix of sweetness and lightly roast malt.

Taste: The taste was subtle and super smooth.  It opened with a creamy, light sweetness up front and closed with a subtle bit of light roasted coffee.

Mouthfeel: Light, slick body with very low carbonation.

Hype: None that I was aware of.

Overall: My wife and I both loved this!  It was really tasty and super easy to drink; a winner for sure.  I really hope this gets into at least somewhat regular rotation at the brewery.
